Annual Conference – 30 Years as One Voice

The NSW Farmers’ Association’s Annual Conference – 30 Years as One Voice – looked at the way forward on many topics, including climate change, wheat marketing, power privatisation, drought assistance and mulesing.

Highlights
  • Farmer of the Year Awards announced - Nigel Kerin from the state's central west was announced the Farmer of the Year and Tally Matthews from the Sydney basin was announced Young Farmer of the Year.
  • NSW Farmers’ Association President Jock Lauire joined NSW Department of Primary Industries Minister Ian Macdonald to launch Landlearn – a program that aims to better educate young children about primary industries production, click here to listen to the ministers address to conference.
  • Walcha farmer Jock Laurie was re-elected unopposed as President of NSW Farmers’ Association, and now enters an historic fourth year in the role, click here to listen to the president's address to conference.

Speakers Bureau – Telling Agriculture’s Story

The NSW Farmers Association has launched our Speaker’s Bureau to tell agriculture’s story.  This is a new initiative by the Association to promote a greater understanding of farm life and agricultural issues with folk living in urban communities.  Chief Executive Shaughn Morgan encourages members to sign up as a speaker with the Speakers Bureau to help us tell agriculture’s story.
