Social Graze

This event was the first official social event for the 2011 Annual Conference. Delegates, partners and industry representatives enjoyed a Gourmet BBQ in a casual and relaxed setting. Social Graze was held in the Southee Complex located opposite the Conference venue.

Sponsored by MLA, the BBQ featured MSA certified meat with a menu that included the following:

• Lamb and rosemary sausages with red capsicum and eggplant caponata
• Rump steak with a thyme jus
• Chicken thigh fillets with sumac, cardamom, spiced potato and tahini yoghurt (GF)
• Spiced pumpkin and chickpea fritters with beetroot hummus (V)
• Caesar salad with crispy bacon

Beverages included beer, wine and soft drink.

The farmers paddock came to Sydney Showground in July 2011 and this was not your average food event! A unique progressive experience designed by the Farmers of NSW, featuring Farmers, showcasing outstanding produce was exclusive to Sydney for one night only. The event featured 14 innovative dishes created by Sydney Showground Executive Chef, Tim Browne using produce from NSW, Australian wool and cotton designer fashion, NSW regional wines, boutique beers and entertainment.  

This event was open to the General Public with tickets available at a subsidised ticket price, courtesy of the NSW Farmers’ Association. This included all food and beverages and for guests based in the city FREE return coach transfers from either Wynyard Station or the QVB to the event.
