5.  Communicating to the wider cattle industry

The Cattle Committee efforts are in direct response to Association members concerns and interests.  Therefore it is essential that members are aware of the advocacy that the Cattle Committee undertakes on behalf of members.
The NSW Farmers’ Association Cattle Committee is a large shareholder of Cattle Council of Australia and has demonstrated capacity to drive the cattle industry debate.

The key objective of communicating beef cattle issues  is:

  • Ensure members are aware of Cattle Committee activities and provide input into these deliberations where necessary
  • Ground truth Committees approach to issues via a peer reference group, the “Beef Reference Group”
  • Play a strong role in representing NSW Farmers’ members cattle interests at national forums particularly CCA and MLA
