6.  Monitor residue testing cases and communicate the importance of declaring chemicals used

Any major residue issue closes export markets instantly causing a dramatic affect to the market. 60% of Australia’s beef is exported therefore if export markets close it affects the whole industry and our members.

To ensure that this does not occur, the Cattle Committee needs to play a key role in educating members and ensuring that these incidents are avoided.

The key objective of residue testing activities is:

  • To ensure that producers are made aware of the negative impacts it could have on the industry
