3.  Biosecurity & Market access; JD

Following 3 years of Committee work, the new JD management system for goats now consists of no zone divisions within NSW and voluntary use of the Goat Health Statement (GHS).  This position reflects the low and ‘zone defying’ prevalence of the disease in goats.  The use of the GHS will also encourage producers to think about disease risk generally.  Final implementation is dependant on national acceptance of the NSW GHS and this may cause market access issues.
