The NSW Farmers’ Association Sheepmeats Committee is comprised of 6 grower members elected by the Association’s Executive Council, its policy setting body. The Sheepmeats Committee is classed as an ‘Advisory Committee’ to Executive Council so therefore it can only advise on policy to Executive Council, it cannot form Association policy in its own right. The Committee members are located across all Sheepmeat growing regions of NSW, therefore ensuring strong representation on the issues facing Sheepmeat producer members of the Association. The Committee contributes at a national level through Sheepmeats Council of Australia and at a state level the Committee is in close contact with other Association Committees, particularly the Wool Committee and the Animal Welfare Committee.
