2. The Roll out of the Access provisions of the Western Lands Amendment Act 2002

This priority relates to providing security to landholders by leading to a restriction of access which has in the past been unavailable to landholders.

There has been little progress made on the legal roads access issue since the 2002 decision was made to formalise, chiefly due to Government not allocating sufficient resources. Recently this has been starting to change with two full time staff and acknowledgement of the need for $10 million over 10 years to complete the project.

The Council will be closely monitoring this to ensure the Government adheres to the commitments it has made.
