Education and Training

The NSW Farmers Association aims to provide members with relevant and accessible education and training opportunities.

The Association directly entered the farm training market in 2005, contracting experienced trainers to present practical workshops as required by members. This year, 128 training activities were conducted, involving 2026 participants. The training programs that The NSW Farmers Association have compiled are comprehensive, and since inception have been a resounding success, assisting Farmers in key areas of their business from Farm Safety through to Farm Financial Management.

Members saved more than $130,000 in discounts, and saved over 1,000 off-farm days through our innovative flexible delivery mechanisms, through the Associations courses.

We are offering training in the following areas:

Chemical Accreditation

Did you know the NSW Pesticides Act requires users of pesticides to have training?

Common examples of pesticides are herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, pour ons, 1080, rat poison and many other substances.

Get accredited by completing a Chemical Card™ course.

Senior First Aid

Have you, a member of your family, an employee or visitor to your farm ever suffered an injury that required medical treatment?

Ambulance response times in the bush can be delayed by lack of local knowledge, poor directions in a crisis, unnamed roads or just significant distances. The time spent waiting for expert medical care can be critical to survival or long-term recovery to full health.

Farm Safety Management

Occupational Health and Safety Legislation has been in force since 1 September 2003. The legislation applies to all farms, mines and workplaces, whether or not you have employees. Ignoring the changes will not give you any protection from penalties or other action by WorkCover. Don't risk not being up-to-date with the latest Occupational Health and Safety Legislation.
