NSW Farmers’ Association (Training) is launching an AusIndustry funded project aimed at improving financial skills in younger farmers. I believe that while financial management is important during the drought, it will be even more critical during drought recovery. These free workshops will increase the resilience of farming families and allow them to recover more quickly when the drought breaks (as it will some day!)
Improve your financial management skills in this free training. We are presenting a series of four workshops funded by AusIndustry:
Understanding Farm Financial Statements (see below)
Financing the Farm
Business Planning
Benchmarking
These workshops are particularly designed for younger farmers but all farmers are welcome to attend (first preference will be given to 18 to 35 year olds).
Currently Understanding Farm Financial Statements is being offered in various centres the other three workshops will become available later in 2007.
Understanding Farm Financial Statements - this workshop shows you how to make sense of your annual financial statements as prepared by your accountant and unlocks the wealth of information they contain.
Financing the Farm - this workshop will explore the different types of farm finance available and when each is appropriate to use; compare different finance offers and give you an understanding of what a financier looks for in al loan application.
