Meet the candidates in Tamworth

Regional issues will headline a series of NSW Farmers meet the candidates’ sessions being held across NSW for the looming state election.

The NSW Farmers’ Tamworth District Council is kicking off the series with an informal dinner at the Tamworth Golf Club on 12 February 2015 at 6.30pm.

The incumbent member Kevin Anderson MP, NSW Greens candidate Pat Schulz, Independent Peter Draper and the Country Labor candidate Joe Hillard will all be attending.

A panel session with the candidates will start at 7.30pm which will include questions and answers from the floor.

NSW Farmers’ President and Premer farmer Fiona Simson said the session is an opportunity for farmers and locals to ensure local food and fibre production and local issues are put forward to all candidates.

“I am sure key issues such as water management, coal seam gas and mining and native vegetation will be prominent topics in the Tamworth electorate,” Ms Simson said.

“Our events are also an opportunity for voters to raise specific local issues such as regional health services and roads.

“These local issues are important for NSW Farmers’ members and rural communities and we are hosting these meet the candidate sessions across the state so farmers and those living in rural communities can make an informed voting decision,” she concluded.

The NSW Farmers’ Tamworth meet the candidate session is a dinner event.
