Cattle Committee

cow1The NSW Farmers Associations Cattle Committee strives to represent the interests of Cattle Members on issues that impact upon their profitability and sustainability. The Cattle Committee, chaired by Richard Chamen, works on behalf of the Association to champion the issues that affect beef cattle producers, ranging from Animal Health to Climate Change to livestock traceability.

The Committee largely focuses on the needs of beef cattle producer Members, as identified by Annual Conference, the Associations primary policy making body. The Committee primarily focuses on state based issues by addressing the rules and regulations imposed by the Industry & Investment NSW, and are particularly active in the animal health area.

The Cattle Committee is also influential at the national level through the Associations representation on Cattle Council of Australia (CCA). CCA provides the Association to have input into national issues such as animal welfare and livestock traceability.

Priority Issues

The Cattle Committee priorities are:

  1. Cattle Health
  2. NLIS
  3. Animal Welfare
  4. EUCAS
  5. Environment
  6. Meat Marketing
