Horticulture

Hort_ThumbnailThe Horticulture Committee represents members from the diverse and dynamic horticulture industries which produce over $1 billion in farm gate value and employ over 10,000 people in NSW.

The committee is made of representatives elected from seven district councils encompassing NSW. The horticulture section of the Association works closely with a number of national bodies such as NFF (National Farmers Federation), HAC (Horticulture Australia Council), AUSVEG Limited (Australian Vegetable and Potato Growers Federation) and APAL (Australian Apple and Pear Limited).

Award Modernisation and Industrial Relations, Grower and Market Transparency, Land use planning, Management of Flying Fox damage to orchards, Raising the Profile of NSW Horticulture and Water issues dominate the policy efforts of the committee.

  1. Flying Fox Management
  2. Modern Horticulture Award 2010
