The Vegetable Industry Development Program
The Vegetable Industry Development Program (VIDP) aims to help growers build their businesses and remain competitive in an increasingly market driven and globalised industry. The VIDP is a centralised program that creates dollar benefits from better business decisions by:
Translating research outcomes into practical information and activity products that can be applied both on and off-farm, Increasing industry awareness of consumers and competitors in target markets, Developing business and industry capacity through training people in business skills and leadership; and Developing a culture of innovation and collaboration within the industry.
The VIDP consists of a number of sub-programs that are working together to provide tangible outputs that deliver the above benefits. These sub-programs are:
- Knowledge Management
- Consumers and Markets
- Economics
- People Development
- Integrated Pest Management
- InnoVeg
- Collaborative Industry Organisations
- Communications Support
The Association is delivering the Collaborative Industry Organisations sub-program in NSW, which will provide relevant and up-to-date information to the NSW vegetable industry.
Vegetable growers can access a range of information about the National Vegetable Research & Development Program by visiting the AUSVEG website: www.ausveg.com.au
The Vegetable Industry Development Program is funded by HAL using the vegetable levy and matched funds from the Australian Government.
