 Biosecurity, Research and Development
Continued investment in research and development is an ongoing concern for the Committee.
The Oyster Industry receives great support from the Industry and Investment NSW, the NSW Food Authority and others and it is critical that this funding is not only maintained, but increased where required. Furthermore, biosecurity is becoming an increasing concern for the industry, particularly surrounding the issue of ship ballast water.
It is critical that biosecurity efforts are adequately resourced to respond to any threats that may arise in this area.
