The NSW Farmers Association Wool Committee is comprised of 8 grower members elected by the Associations Executive Council, its policy setting body.  The Wool Committee is classed as an Advisory Committee to Executive Council so therefore it can only advise on policy to Executive Council, it cannot form Association policy in its own right.  The Committee members are located across all wool growing regions of NSW, therefore ensuring strong representation on the issues facing wool growing members of the Association.

The Committee contributes at a national level through WoolProducers and at a state level the Committee is in close contact with other Association Committees, particularly the Sheepmeats Committee and the Animal Welfare Committee.

Priority Issues

The Wool Committee priorities are:

  1. Strategic Plan
  2. Control and Accountability of Grower Funds
  3. Animal Welfare
  4. Extension, Industry Education, and R&D
  5. Availability of Wool Handling Staff
