Director ID

Nominees for Board positions are required to supply a Director ID at point of nomination. Since 5 April 2022, it has been a legal requirement that intending directors must apply for a Director ID before being appointed. A Director ID is a 15-digit identifier given to a director (or someone who intends to become a director) who has verified their identity with the ABRS; it is a unique identifier that a director will apply for once and keep forever – which will help prevent the use of false or fraudulent director identities.

ALERT: Kindly note that applying for a Director ID is not a simple process, and it cannot be completed on the day at Annual Conference as there are a number of identification documents required. Members intending to nominate for a Board position must obtain their Director ID application prior to attending Annual Conference. The quickest way to apply for a Director ID is online utilising a myGovID – click here for further information. Executive Council Advisory Committee Elections

Online elections

NSW Farmers has engaged TrueVote to deliver its online elections. Ballots will be circulated to incoming Executive Councillors by email to the email addresses that have been provided.

Ballot for each election will be circulated by an email from TrueVote  at the time when the elections open. Link to the ballot will be deactivated at the time the election closes and will not work thereafter.

Concurrent elections: The Advisory Committee elections will be conducted concurrently over a one-week period. Voters will receive a separate email for each ballot. Please take care to ensure that voters have cast their vote in each of the ballots.

Voter verification: Voters are issued a confirmation receipt when their vote preferences are lodged. This confirmation receipt can be accessed by the voter at any time throughout the ballot period.

Secret voting: All lodged ballot preferences are de-identified. The voter is automatically marked as ‘voted’ against the registered voter roll and the vote inserted into the count. There are no identifying markers against the received ballots following completion of the ballot.

Potential change to the tenure of EC Advisory Committee members

The current tenure for Advisory Committee members is one year. At the 2025 AGM, scheduled for 23 July 2025, members are being asked to approve changes to the constitution to facilitate the extension of Advisory Committee members’ tenure to two years.

If the constitutional change is not passed, the current one-year tenure will remain in place.

If the constitutional change is passed, Advisory Committee members will serve two-year terms, and a staggered election process will be introduced.

Implementation of the Two-Year Terms (Subject to Member Approval at the 2025 AGM)

If members approve the constitutional change:

  • Advisory Committee Members will have a two-year term, commencing at the conclusion of Advisory Committee elections following Annual Conference at which they were elected and expiring at the conclusion of the Advisory Committee elections following the second Annual Conference after their appointment.
  • As a one-time transitional measure, half of the Advisory Committee Members elected in 2025 who receive the lowest number of votes will serve a one-year term, expiring at the conclusion of the Advisory Committee elections following the first Annual Conference after their appointment.
  • For avoidance of doubt, the transitional arrangement and the staggered election cycle for years 2025 to 2027 is summarised below:
