Forbes Harvest Machinery RMS Field Day
The annual Pre-Harvest Field Day will be held at the Forbes Saleyards on Wednesday 8 August 2018 .
This is a combined event with NSW Farmers, the Custom Harvesters Association, and coordinated by Mel Suitor, Road Safety & Injury Prevention Officer | Parkes, Forbes & Lachlan Shire Councils. Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) will provide hands-on information and advice about oversize and overmass machinery permits and compliance. Highway patrol, RMS inspectors and Council will be attending, along with NSW Farmers staff and representatives.
The purpose of the day is to provide updates and iron out some of the issues around agricultural and heavy vehicle movements and allow members to discuss their issues with RMS on the day. NSW Farmers meets quarterly with RMS – and this is a great opportunity for growers to meet with them to discuss their issues, such as permits, signage etc. NHVR will also be present to provide an update on Chain of Responsibility.
The day will begin with a breakfast and will be wrapped up with lunch. After lunch there will be a Performance-Based Standards (PBS) vehicle demonstration and you are welcome to stay and also attend that session.
