NSW Farmers invites you to be inspired at a Young Farmers forum in Kempsey. Hear from successful young farmers and find out more about pathways into agriculture on the north coast.

Dave Gibson, Gibson Angus, Dorrigo
Former Young Farmer of the year finalist Dave Gibson always dreamed of have having his own farm. Now he runs five farms as part of his Gibson Angus stud and beef backgrounding enterprise, thanks to hard work and little risk in taking on farm contracting business to get the capital to purchase his first farm.   

Paul Shoker, Coffs Harbour
Paul runs a horticultural enterprise that focuses on banana, avocado and cucumber production. Paul’s family farm has diversified production, trialled new varieties and adopted companion planting to sustain a successful business. Paul is also a NSW Farmers Board Member and a member of the NSW Farmers Horticulture Committee

Theresa O’Connell
Theresa O’Connell is the former Agricultural Pathways project officer and is author of the Mid North Coast Regional Development Australia ‘Pathways into Agriculture”. Theresa is passionate about all things agriculture on the north coast and has a special interests in school-based traineeships
Entry is free for NSW Farmers Members and $10 per head for non-Members. Entry includes finger food, two free drinks (beer or softdrink) and some local oysters.

Who is NSW Young Farmers?

NSW Young Farmers is the youth branch of NSW Farmers, a volunteer organisation furthering the interests of farmers and rural communities in NSW for over 100 years. You don’t even need to be a full-time farmer to join, all NSW Farmers members aged 18-35 are eligible to participate. NSW Young Farmers hosts events to meet like-minded people and make friends for life and there a host of Member benefits. You can join for as little as $100.
