A non-primary producer is a business who does not own a farming operation. If you are not a farmer, you are classified as a non-primary producer. Your application process is different.
There are different
eligible interaction requirements depending on if you are a primary (farmer) or non-primary producer. If you are a non-primary producer, participation in a webinar or a virtual farm safety experience will not be considered an eligible interaction.
Non-primary producers are also required to provide a signed statutory declaration* with their application with the following information:
•
What is the requirement of a quad bike or SSV for your business - why do you need it? what work tasks will you be carrying out with the vehicle?
•
Confirmation that the quad bike or SSV is/will be used for work purposes.
•
Confirmation that the quad bike or SSV is/will be used to carry out work tasks for the ABN provided on the application.
For example:
“I own a horse-riding school (John Smith’s Horse-Riding Lessons ABN 12 345 678 910) in Orange NSW. We require regular use of a quad bike to feed, muster and check on the horses. We also use the quad bike to carry out maintenance in the paddocks. I am upgrading our quad bike to a SSV as it is a safer vehicle for both myself and my workers. I confirm that the SSV was purchased for work purposes to carry out tasks for John Smith’s Horse-Riding Lessons ABN 12 345 678 910”.
* A statutory declaration is a written statement which a person swears, affirms or declares to be true in the presence of an authorised witness and is made under the Oaths Act 1900. You can find a template on the NSW Communities and Justice website
