Felicity Taylor, The Alan Chapman Memorial Scholarship

Hometown: Moree, NSW
University: The University of Sydney
Degree: Bachelor of Agricultural Economics

Felicity grew up on a mixed cropping farm and her family now runs Hereford and Angus cattle between properties near Moree and Armidale.

Felicity studied a Bachelor of Agricultural Economics at The University of Sydney, including an Honours research project exploring the implicit values of the characteristics of cattle in online auctions, including the value of including the animal’s vaccination history in an online auction to achieve a premium price. Felicity has experience working with Rabobank’s RaboResearch Food & Agribusiness.

Owning an innovative and progressive beef property with the financial capacity to invest, take calculated risks and diversify is a big dream of Felicity’s. She believes that the large-scale family-owned farming model will play a significant role in Australia’s future. She hopes to share her economic knowledge to build the resilience of other rural businesses and the communities that supports agriculture.
