The Workplace Relations (WR) team is comprised of specialist advisors dedicated to advocating for the collective interests of NSW Farmers Members. We also provide tailored guidance, representation, and support to subscribers, helping them navigate the complexities of employment law and fulfill their workplace obligations with confidence. 

We know that farming is not like any other business, and so the support we provide is not like any other workplace relations service. Our expert staff really understand workplace relations for the agriculture sector – it’s all we do. We know about hiring staff, paying them, and managing their performance.

NSW Farmers has modernised its Workplace Relations service, which provides specialist advice to farm businesses about employment matters. This service presents unrivalled value for NSW Farmers Members who need advice and support about employment matters. 

Our new tiered structure ensures flexibility, scalability, and value for farming businesses, offering essential support for employment matters while allowing Members to choose the package that best suits their needs. 

There are three levels of support packages for Workplace Relations subscribers designed to meet the needs of most farming businesses based on the size of their workforce and desired level of service. Farmer members who don’t want to subscribe to a package can still access the service at an hourly rate.

What We Do 


Advocacy for Members:
We represent our Members on critical employment-related issues, such as minimum wage adjustments, workers’ compensation reforms, and modern award reviews. Our advocacy ensures that the voices of farming businesses are heard at both state and national levels.

Keeping Members Informed:
Stay up-to-date with changes in employment law through our regular updates and insights into current workplace relations issues, helping you stay ahead in a dynamic regulatory environment.

Expert Advice and Guidance:
We provide timely, tailored advice to subscribers, offering support for all employment matters—whether straightforward or complex—in their farming businesses. Our team is here to help with any question or concern, big or small. Most of our work involves one-on-one support through our dedicated Advice Line, where we provide practical solutions to help subscribers confidently manage their workforce challenges.

Document Support and Resources:
Our team can assist with drafting essential employment documents, including contracts, Individual Flexibility Arrangements (IFAs), and workplace policies and procedures. To further support members, we offer a library of resources and templates to simplify employment compliance.

Tribunal and Commission Representation:
Support is readily available to our subscribers when representation is needed in tribunal matters or dealings with the Fair Work Ombudsman or Fair Work Commission. Our team provides expert advocacy and guidance to navigate these critical situations with confidence.

The NSW Farmers (Industrial) Association 


The NSW Farmers’ (Industrial) Association exists to advocate the collective interests of NSW Farmers’ Members on all employment related issues and to provide members with day to day assistance in managing their workforce.
