Early Needs Recovery Program

The $13 million Early Needs Recovery Program (ENRP) was part of the $150 million Primary Industry Support package which is co-funded by the Australian and NSW governments. The program aimed to support primary producers in the most flood-impacted regions and industries of NSW to regain productivity.

This project provided support to oyster growers in NSW to further their skills and knowledge, with the objective of building a more resilient and productive oyster industry. The outputs for this project included:

  • Employment of a dedicated Hatchery Liaison Officer to support growers with specific advice

  • 5 instructional videos on spat-handling management techniques
    - FLUPSY systems and mesh inserts
    - Grading machines
    - Grading smaller oysters
    - Stock density
    - Upwellers and downwellers
  • 6 educational resources to support these videos
